VTAS Indoor Arena Usage – COVID-19

The VTAS Indoor Arena is reopened to current members only. The following rules and procedures will be in effect until further notice:

  • Arena will be closed to the public.
  • Only current members will be allowed to use the facility. No new memberships will be accepted until further notice. (We will consider new memberships soon.)
  • Access to members will be allowed by scheduled appointment only. (Refer to “scheduling” below.)
  • A completed VTAS COVID-19 waiver form must be emailed to plaz@telusplanet.net prior to scheduling an appointment. Please note that your waiver will not be accepted without a WITNESS signature. Download the waiver forms here: 18 and over and 17 and under.
  • A current VTAS Indoor Arena waiver form must also be fully completed (including your AEF insurance #) and emailed to plaz@telusplanet.net prior to scheduling an appointment. (Note: To purchase or renew your AEF insurance, refer to the Alberta Equestrian Federation website.)
  • Members will not be eligible to book an appointment until both waivers have been submitted to the above stated email.
  • In addition to completing the usual sign-in sheet, members must also complete the VTAS COVID Check-In/Check Out Form upon EVERY visit. Download this form here. Copies of this form can also be found on a clipboard onsite, at the side entrance beside the lunchroom door. Once completed, this form must be placed inside the designated slot beside the deposit box. Please be diligent with this procedure.
  • Only individuals or members of the same family are permitted in each appointment.
  • Arena slots are for the sole purpose of exercising horses. Lessons/sessions are not allowed. 2-meter distancing is mandatory and must be maintained at all times.
  • Masks must be worn when not riding.

Scheduling

Corinne Toronchuk will create a group text including all current members, as of December 13, 2020. This text will include a link to access a spreadsheet calendar where all time slots will be posted for each week. Click on the link to “Request Access”. Once access is granted, you will be able to view the weekly calendar as bookings are updated.

This group text is for booking riding time slots ONLY. The spreadsheet calendar will be updated as bookings are received and will be available to view at any time by members. Any further questions or comments can be texted directly to Corinne at 1-780-292-6647.

Daily booking times (7 days a week) will be as follows:

  • 9:00am –11:00am
  • 12:00pm – 2:00pm
  • 3:00pm – 5:00pm
  • 6:00pm – 8:00pm
  • 9:00pm – 11:00pm

In an effort to give all members an opportunity to schedule preferred times, initially each member will have an opportunity to book 2 time slots per week, in the order of texts received. These initial 2 time slots can be booked on Sundays from 9:00am to 9:00pm. The schedule will be posted by 11:00pm that Sunday night. Any remaining time slots will be open for further booking to any member on a “first come first serve” basis by 9:00am the following Monday morning.
