Updated VTAS Indoor Arena Usage – COVID 19

Effective February 1, 2021

The VTAS Indoor Arena continues to be opened to current members in good standing. The following rules and procedures are now in effect until further notice.

Please read thoroughly for updated information

  • Arena will remain closed to the public.
  • Only members who have paid their annual fee and have submitted BOTH the VTAS COVID-19 Waiver Form (see below for further instructions) and a current VTAS Indoor Arena Waiver Form (see below for further instructions) will be considered in good standing and are permitted to use the facility.
  • The completed VTAS COVID-19 Waiver Form must be emailed to plaz@telusplanet.net. Please note that your waiver will not be accepted without a WITNESS signature. Download the waiver forms here: 18 years and over and 17 years and under.
  • A current VTAS Indoor Arena Waiver Form must be fully completed (including your AEF Insurance #) and emailed to plaz@telusplanet.net.  Please note that your waiver will not be accepted without a WITNESS signature. Download waiver forms here: 18 years and over and 17 years and under. (To purchase or renew your AEF insurance, refer to the Alberta Equestrian Federation website.)
  • In addition to completing the usual sign-in sheet, members must also complete the VTAS COVID Check-In/Check-Out Form upon EVERY visit.  Download this form here. Copies of this form can also be found on a clipboard onsite, at the side entrance beside the lunchroom door. Once completed, this form must be placed inside the designated slot beside the deposit box. Please be diligent with this procedure.
  • Arena will continue to be used for the sole purpose of exercising horses. Lessons/training sessions are not allowed.
  • 2-meter distancing is mandatory and must be maintained at all times.
  • Masks must be worn when not riding.

Scheduling

Appointments are no longer required, however the following rules apply:

  • No riding before 10:00am on any day.
  • The maximum riding time is 2 hours per riding session. Once you have reached your maximum time, you must leave the arena immediately.
  • Only current members are permitted to ride. No drop-ins or extracurricular riders are allowed.
  • No more than 10 riders shall be in the arena at one time.
  • Private bookings are still available and can be booked with Corinne Toronchuk at 1-780-292-6647.

Important note: If any member is found to be in non-compliance with any of these rules or procedures, the following will occur. The first violation will constitute a warning via text. A second violation will constitute a warning via text and verbally from the VTAS President. A third violation will constitute a notification that your membership has been revoked without refund and all arena privileges will be forfeited indefinitely.
