At this time, the VTAS Board aims to reopen the indoor arena on Thursday, December 4, 2025 (this being 15 days after initial closure), with the continued agreement that you are entering you and your horse at your own risk with no responsibility being held by VTAS.
The following stipulations will apply and must be adhered to:
- All users of the arena must sign in prior to usage.
- If any horses on your property are sick, lethargic or just not themselves, then none should be brought to the arena, and neither should the handler of those horses until clinical signs in the sick horse have been resolved.
- Vaccination of your horses is encouraged but is not required.
- Horses and people must be kept from interacting closely with each other, minimize sharing tack and equipment, and disinfect equipment with diluted bleach at 1:10 ratio and boot dip upon arrival and when leaving. Riders will be required to supply their own disinfectant and boot dip.
Please note that if the EHV-1 circumstances evolve negatively, the arena could still be faced with a continued closure or future closure.
The VTAS Board’s goal this past week has been to closely consider the health and safety of you, your animals and our facility. We understand the inconvenience, but we appreciate your patience as we weigh our options in handling this circumstance in a caring and responsible manner.
We will continue to provide updates as needed.
